Below is the Thanksgiving proclamation from President George Washington … My how far we have strayed from our founding!

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

G. Washington.

I realize that my audience is spread all over this great nation. But please indulge me for a moment while I call out my Congressman. And follow my example to call your Congressman to the carpet too!

Currently there is a man, a husband, a father of two, sitting in prison waiting for his execution. His crime? He’s a Christian in a Muslim country.

Youcef Nadarkhani an Iranian citizen has been tried and convicted in the Iranian judicial system for being a Christian. He was given three chances to deny his faith in Jesus to spare his life … He did not recant.

Congress has launched a major bipartisan effort to empower Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton to apply political pressure to Iran for this crime against humanity. To date 39 Congressmen have signed it. However, my Congressman, the “Conservative” Howard P. Buck McKeon (R CA-25) has not!

Buck I can’t understand why you would be silent on this important issue.

As my representative in Washington I demand that you make my voice heard and sign this letter! If you refuse I will do all I can to replace you with someone who will represent me … Mr. Congressman you represent me, not your interests. You work for me and I will fire you and replace you if you don’t do your job!

I’ve heard people from both political parties allude to the Tea Party as Anarchist. Out of fear for their own jobs or simply out of ignorant bias they conclude that if someone wants to limit the Federal government in any way they must by an Anarchist.

These people are either woefully ignorant, or disingenuous at best. The Tea Party supports the 10 Amendment, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” In other words the Federal governments powers and authority are limited to those few and specific things assigned to it.

A simple way to understand this is that your problems and needs should be handled as close to you as possible. You are responsible to provide and protect yourself. In some instances that job will be too big for you. At those times those things should be handled by your family, then your community, then your State, then the Federal government.

Today we’ve turned that on it’s head and look to the Federal government first to fix our problems and provide for us.

The Tea Party is not for Anarchy, it is for each person and entity assuming its proper role and authority.

Now I realize that in yesterday’s article I stated that America was founded on Biblical principles. This is factual. However, the Tea Party is not a “Christian” group. The Tea Party stands for the Constitution.

The principles of the Constitution are based on, or inspired by Biblical principles, Biblical principles reflect the character of God. Many people won’t understand this but let me explain rationally and equivocally using one characteristic of God as an example.

God is love. God wants us to love others as He does. Life experience and logic tell you that if you kidnapped someone and forced them to “love” you, that would not be true love. Love requires choice not force or coercion.

One application of that Biblical principle based on the character of God is that in America you have freedom of religion (not freedom “from” religion). Each person has the right to choose to worship or not as he or she chooses.

Why? Because God loves you, He will not force you to love Him.

Moreover, the application of this Biblical principle is an example of America’s supremacy over many other nations. In many nations today you do not have the freedom to exercise religion, or your choice of which religion to practice is forced upon you. As I write this article there is a Christian father in Iran who is facing execution because he refused to renounce his Christian faith and return to Islam.

Thus The Tea Party, like our Constitution is not trying to establish a religion, it’s trying to protect everyone’s rights by relying on the wisdom of our Founders who based our laws on Biblical principles.

The bottom line is that if you are an Atheist, Muslim, Pagan, Christian, Agnostic, et.al … you have the Liberty to hold and express those views because that is your God-given right protected by our Constitution.

Just like there are many Republicans involved in the Tea Party there is also many Libertarians in the Tea Party. To both groups I state the following: If your political party comes before conservative principles you are not a member of the Tea Party.

When it comes to our Libertarian friends two issues jump out at me right away; Morals matter and Religion matters.

While we share many concerns with Libertarians, especially when it comes to the economy, what distinguishes Tea Party members is that it is not ONLY about the economy. Our Founding Fathers were clear, in order for this nation to survive it must by lead my moral people held accountable by moral people.

Character matters. Social issues such as abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research are important. What is taught to our children in schools about tolerance, sex and history are important. And maintaining a strong military is essential.

We cannot be scared away from acknowledging the fact that America is a great, prosperous, tolerant, generous, law-abiding nation because she was founded on Biblical principles. To the degree that we stray from that will erode our national character and benefits.

When will Liberals wake up and realize that some people and some systems of thought (in this case a religion) are evil and cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.

Liberals not only refuse to acknowledge Islam’s violation of the rights of women and intolerance of other religions, but actually fight to allow Muslims the right to practice Sharia law here in the United States!

It is foolish to be tolerant of the intolerant. If someone wants to murder your family it’s stupid to provide him with the weapon! Here’s the reality … Radical Muslims want to kill you because you don’t believe their stupid vile religion. The weapon we are giving them to do that is blind tolerance.

Imagine a world in a few years when women will have the right to vote! Religious leaders scoff while the leader of the nation floats the notion that women should have rights similar to men’s rights.

No I’m not referring to America under the cruel and oppressive thumb of a Christian culture in the 1890‘s (deep sticky sarcasm) … No, I’m just reading the headlines from today’s Wall Street Journal about the state of women living under the beautiful theocracy of Islam (just to be clear … again, sarcastic).

It seems that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia just can’t convince clerics of the peaceful and respectful religion of Islam to see things his way. Apparently the progressive King thinks that it might be a swell idea to allow women to vote in 2015 (yes, 2015!).

But don’t worry he’s not too radical, he does made the following concessions:
“Saudi women remain veiled and segregated and are forbidden to drive or to obtain their own identity cards. Women need written permission from a male relative in order to travel abroad.” WSJ

(Huge sigh of relief …) I thought those silly Muslims might be getting a little liberal these days!

Allow me to ask the obvious, yet unanswered question: Where is the public outrage from the Progressives, the Liberals, those who claim to stand for women’s rights? You’re silence is deafening and reveals that your true intentions are not as you claim. Your hypocrisy is blinding! You don’t care about women; you care about your lust for power and profit!

Progressives your silence against Islam is support of their anti-women laws and culture.

Fifty years ago homosexuality was illegal in the United States, it was considered immoral and unnatural. In 1962 Illinois became the first state in the U.S. to decriminalize homosexual acts between consenting adults in private.

It was still believed to be abnormal, dare I say “sinful” behavior. But the culture of sex in America changed significantly in the 1960’s and in 1973 The American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from its official list of mental disorders.

“Hey who are we to pass judgment against what types of sexual behavior people engage in private.” After all, the enlightened reasoned, “it’s not a mental disorder, in fact it’s coded in their DNA just like the color of someone’s eyes … therefore it’s actually natural for them.” In fact we must not only tolerate homosexuality, we must embrace it as natural, healthy and good.

Christians were branded as “intolerant” “hate-mongers” and “narrow-minded” making ignorant moral judgments against homosexuals, and naive arguments about a “slippery slope.”

Bible-thumping religious zealots made ridiculous claims that the arguments used to defend the behavior of homosexuals would necessarily be successful when used to defend other sexually abnormal and unnatural behavior such as bestiality and pedophilia among others.

Yesterday (August 24, 2011) it was reported that a group of 38 of clinicians, researchers and academics gathered for a scientific symposium to discuss a proposed new definition of pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association.

With the strategic backing of the non-profit B4U-Act they believe that pedophiles should not carry the stigma of being criminal child abusers. Rather it is a genetic predisposition. They should be tolerated and their behavior understood. After all it’s just as natural to them as the color of their eyes.

Pedophilias should not suffer the negative innuendos of that name either, but rather they should be called “Minor-attracted people.”

The argument is the same. It’s coded into their DNA. They are victimized by the stigma of an outdated moral culture. What’s needed is a new understanding, new definitions of normalcy. Those who are intolerant of this medical condition are simply naive.

The only barrier to overcome is how we as a culture will find a way to justify their young victims as consenting sexual partners. What horrifies me is that the left will find a way to do that … they’ve already legalized the murder of defenseless children, why not their rape too.

For the sake of our children, and out of fear of a Holy God … Stand and fight against this sin!
Today the Bible is considered by most a quaint symbol of an idealistic time. At best it’s remembered and referred to nostalgically, but it is also regarded as the source of manipulation and all that is evil in human behavior.

Likewise there will soon be a day in which our Constitution will suffer the same fate.
Public officials will no longer swear to “defend the Constitution of the United States” but will rather simply “affirm to defend the United States” … then at some point even the United States will be replaced by some globally sensitive body.

I beg all Conservatives to prove me wrong … Fight to free our liberties from the death-grip of politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties!
