States Rights

by Chris | August 23rd, 2009

Our Founders intended for the power of government to be situated at the state level.

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined.  Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.  The former (federal) will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce … The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State." (Federalist Papers, No. 45, pp. 292-93.)

  45. I have to say, as a great deal as I enjoyed studying what you had to say, I couldnt allow but shed curiosity following a while. Its as people who had wonderful grasp on the subject matter, but you forgot to include your visitors. Perhaps you must think about this from far more than 1 angle. Or maybe you shouldnt generalise a lot. Its alot more will want to you presume about what others could have to say as an alternative of just going for a intestine reaction to the topic. Think about adjusting your personal considered process and giving others who will probably go through this the profit of the doubt.

  46. Please, keep up the greet work and continue to post topics like this. I am really fan of your blog!

  47. Just keep doing good posts.
