Tea Party ~ Compassionate Intervention

by Chris | July 17th, 2009

For a while “interventions” were all the rage.  People would let all their friends and family know that a loved one was struggling with an addiction that was about to ruin his life.  They’d come together and form a plan to address this issue with their loved one in an attempt to save him from sure problems or even death.

Then as difficult as it was they addressed the issue head on in love and compassion praying for a favorable outcome.  We do this on smaller scales too.  If you found out a good friend was about to enter into a harmful relationship, for example, you’d lovingly intervene to save her from the future pain she is unaware of.

  • The first step is awareness … we have to know what’s going on, the problem has to be on our radar.  You’ve got to have some level of insight into the dangers and consequences of the issues in question.
  • Second, you need to create a plan.  Mobilize those who are concerned and figure out a way to conquer the problem.
  • Third you need the heart to execute your plan and the determination to stick with it.  If your loved one looked at you and said, “Thanks for the concern, but I’m fine.”  Would you stop there?  Would you allow them to destroy themselves and others?  Of course you wouldn’t, but you’d know that you’re in for a long difficult struggle.

This is what the Tea Party movement is all about.

There is precious little happening in American government today that will be a blessing to your children, grandchildren and their children.  There is very little that will result from our governments’ activities that will allow the American people to continue to be a blessing to the other nations and peoples of the world.

I think it started with the broken promise of the elder President Bush.  It seems that when he violated the infamous “read my lips, no new taxes” line, the will of the people began to wane.  As a result we voted in Clinton who was a likeable chap, but plagued with moral scandals resulting in his non-consequential impeachment.  One of the diversionary tactics used by President Clinton was to force lending institutions to provide mortgages to folks who did not qualify for them.  This planted the seeds that would result in the housing debacle realized under the following administration.

We followed that with the younger Bush who almost immediately found himself in a global war against people driven by a hate not understood by the average human.  President Bush’s response was to increase the size and scope of government on a massive scale.  This unprecedented government expansion and the real estate crisis contributed to the beginning of the great recession.  Bush’s response was again to give the government more control.  He mandated that all financial institutions take bail out money whether or not it was needed.

Onto this dark stage marches Hope and Change!  President Obama gladly picks up where Bush left off, and like a teenage kid drag racing his dads hot rod, Obama put the pedal to the metal and hasn’t looked back.  The Obama administration has taken control of the banking industry (controlling your money), the mortgage industry (controlling your house), the automotive industry (controlling your primary mode of transportation), and is driving hard to the basket to slam-dunk the health care industry (taking control of your personal life … literally).

This unaccountable government is exactly what the Founders of this great nation fought against.  We are not living in a theoretical situation wherein we are debating the results of vying philosophies.

We are living under the heavy (but nicely smiling) hand of a tyrannical government that literally ignores the will of the people (just ask the voters of California) and is only seeking the continued growth of the government.

It is like the drug addict who truly believes that the only answer is more drugs.  Those intervening in the addicts’ life can see the destruction, and bears the burden of the initial hatred and rage of the addict because they know that’s the only way their loved one will survive.  The only way for your loved one to be truly free is to break the addiction.

If you care enough for your children, grandchildren and their children to ensure that they are not born addicted to the narcotic of government control, that they will live in Freedom … you must join in the effort to create awareness, execute a plan, and have the determination to see it to victory.

  21. HI TO ALL THE CARING AMERICANS WHO SEE OUR COUNTRY BEING BROUGHT DOWN BY OBAMA AND HIS PROGRESSIVE LIBERALS. I DO CARE AND EVEN THOUGH I AM 68 YEARS OLD I AM READY TO TAKE UP ARMS AND DEFEND WHAT OUR HEROS HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR. WE CANNOT LET THIS EVIL MAN WIN. THE TEA PARTY IS WHAT WE NEEDED TO GET OUT OUR FRUSTRATIONS AND ANGER, AND TO KNOW WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS FIGHT.

BE UNAFRAID IN YOUR DEFENSE OF YOUR BELIEFS AND KEEP INFORMED BY WATCHING FOX NEWS AND ESECIALLY GLEN BECK WHO ALONE WAS ABLE TO GET THE REGISNATION OF CZAR JONES, WHO I BELIEVE IS EXACTLY LIKE OBAMA IN HIS THOUGHTS, ACTIONS AND DEEDS. I BELIEVE WE HAVE A PRESIDENT AND HIS WIFE WHO LIKE REVEREND WRIGHT HATE WHITES AND AMERICA, AND IS OUT TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY FOREVER. I WISH I DID NOT FEEL THIS WAY, BUT HISTORY WILL PROVE ME RIGHT.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND KEEP UP THE FIGHT.

  22. Melanie says:

    Hi all,
I really want to do something. I am feeling so helpless these days. I call and fax my senators but they are both such huge liberal sell outs that it is almost a waste of time. I pray that Boxer gets defeated next year. I am hoping we can help with that. McKeon my Rep in Congress is pretty conservative on the current issues(Health care, cap and tax) but I haven’t been thrilled with him over the years. Prayer is the most productive thing I can do. This media needs to be stopped, they are just lap dogs for this rogue GOV

    Great perspective!!
